Statement of Faith

  1. The Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired by God and are the infallible rule of faith and conduct.
  2. There is one eternally self-existent God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin; He was fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death and then rose bodily from the dead. He is now seated at the right hand of God, and will come again to receive His Church and reward every man according to his works.
  4. Salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and is received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and genuine repentance from sin.
  5. Water baptism by immersion is the symbol of the believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. It is a direct commandment from the Lord for all believers.
  6. The Baptism with the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are available for all believers as enduements for life and service subsequent to conversion.
  7. Divine healing is the operation of the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted. It is provided for by Christ’s atonement and is accomplished by the power of God.
  8. When Christ returns, the dead will be resurrected. Eternal salvation will be the inheritance of the believers, with eternal damnation and punishment that of the unbelievers.
  9. There is one universal Church with Christ as its head. This Church is comprised of all true believers, regardless of denominational affiliation.
  10. In the local church, believers from a particular geographic locality are joined together, submitting to the authority of the Scriptures and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. They receive feeding, oversight, care and instruction from recognized leaders. They glorify God through corporate worship, prayer, evangelism, teaching, and fellowship as they care for and serve one another, receiving new converts into the church and nurturing them in the faith.

Worship at CFC

We’re so glad you’re interested in worship at Christian Fellowship Center. We hope our love for God is evident!

We understand that our service might be a little different than what you’re used to, though, so we’d like to share with you what we believe about worship and its expression in our lives.

“Psalm 107 says, ‘Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,’
and worship is the grateful response of the redeemed.”
Israel Houghton

Understanding What The Bible Says About Worship

Matthew 4.10 “You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.”

Psalm 22.22 “I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.”

Psalm 149.1″Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints.”

Psalm 150.2 “Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!”

Worship is the expression of love, honor and adoration we bestow upon God. True worship flows from a sincere heart and acknowledges both the wonderful things God has done for us and the awesome majesty of who He is.

We worship God because He is:

Almighty – Genesis 17.1
Eternal – Deuteronomy 33.27
God alone – Genesis 1.1
Everlasting – Genesis 21.33
Heavenly Father – Matthew 6.26
King Eternal – I Timothy 1.17
Savior – Isaiah 49.26
Wonderful – Isaiah 9.6

. . .and for so many other reasons!

Finding Expression in Worship

True worship flows from the heart, and can find expression in many ways. “Praise” might be considered the term which describes worship as it is expressed:

Singing – Psalm 9.2 “I will be glad and rejoice in You: I will sing praise to Your name, O most High.”

Speaking – Psalm 145.4 “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”

Clapping hands – Psalm 47.1 “O Clap your hands, all you people!”

Dance – Psalm 150.4 “Praise him with the timbrel and dance”

Shouts – Psalm 47.1 “Shout unto God with the voice of triumph.”

Instruments – Psalm 150.4,5 “Praise Him with the timbrel and dance, praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him on the loud cymbals: praise Him on the high sounding cymbals.”

We are also excited that our expression of worship today is only a glimpse of that which we’ll spend the rest of eternity offering to the Lord!

And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped Him that lives forever and ever. Revelation 5.14
