About Alms of Love Food Pantry

The Alms of Love Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 11am until 2pm. We provide groceries free of charge to all who come. Please call the church if you need food at any other point, we will try to accommodate all needs as much as possible.

 

Blessing Shop

About Blessing Shop

The Blessing Shop is a ministry that supports members of the body as well as members of our community who have clothing needs in their families. We are here for you! All clothing is free to take. We operate on a volunteer basis, sorting through donations and hanging the articles in their designated area.

 

Children's Church

About Children's Church

After worship in the main sanctuary finishes, during the meet and greet time of our service, children pre-K to 7th grade are dismissed to their respective classrooms for an hour of Bible teaching, interactive games, skits, coloring, and fellowship. Our equipped teaching staff take their jobs seriously and you can trust that your children will learn, have fun, and remember their time in Children’s Church. At the end of the service the children are escorted to the service in pairs by a Children’s Church worker.

 

College Ministry

About College Ministry

The college ministry of Christian Fellowship Center has seen thousands of students throughout the years – the goal is not to retain them for life (we understand our position as a place of training and sending out), but to teach them the value of local church and family. Most of the key leaders at CFC were college students who never left, so we don’t mind it when that happens. But our goal is to provide a place for discipleship to happen and relationship building.

We are excited about our new location at 41 Main Street in Potsdam and plan to serve the four major campuses, Clarkson, SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Canton, and St. Lawrence through college ministry and events there!

About Food and Fellowship

The Food and Fellowship Ministry is here to make sure that you get your Sunday morning coffee and your kids get their mid-morning snack. The Canteen open from 10:00 to 10:30 on Sundays, and we serve Bagels after the service once a month. Check the bulletin for dates!

 

Friendship Clubhouse

About Friendship Clubhouse

We are blessed by an abundant number of children here at CFC and we want to make sure that these young people are trained in the things of the Lord. Friendship Clubhouse is a program designed to teach children about friendship and relationships, but a big part of the program is having the children learn about various ministries in a local church and participating in them.

Occasionally you will see children dressed in navy blue and white, sporting a colorful sash over their shoulder. Each of the badges, honor badges, stars, etc. have been earned by continual and proven service in particular ministries. By the time they graduate to Youth, they will have been equipped to jump into service in the local church. We want everyone to know that they are a necessary component to the health of the local church and children are no exception!

Friendship Clubhouse meets from 9:15-10:10am every Sunday morning and is for 6-12 year olds.

The Media Team helps create a more organized atmosphere by aiding the congregation every Sunday with song lyrics during worship, announcements, and sermon notes (if the Pastor is using any) using our projector as well as other technology.

 

Ministering Prayer Team

About Ministering Prayer Team

Our Ministering Prayer Team is a group of people who have a heart to serve others and stand in faith that the Lord will work in your life. They are available after every service to prayer with you – no matter how “small” the issue. They are people who believe in the power of prayer, the importance of prayer, and have faith that the Lord listens to our prayers.

“The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.” – James 5:15-16

 

Nursery

About Nursery

CFC is abounding and overflowing with children of all ages and they are a top priority in our ministry. To best serve you during our regular services and special events, we have qualified and trained nursery workers who will take care of your children during the services.

Each nursery (0-2 infants and 3-4 toddlers) is staffed by at least two workers and a plethora of age appropriate toys. We also have a nursing mothers room for mothers with infants. Every family is assigned a number which will flash to the right of the stage should their child(ren) need them.

Pastors' Prayer Team

About Pastors' Prayer Team

Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. Hebrews 13:17

Our Pastors are amazing! It is astounding how much time and energy they put into serving us and seeing our lives flourish. These great men of God are constantly giving, constantly pouring into us, and we want to make sure that they are, in turn, constantly being strengthened and renewed.

The Pastors Prayer Team is simply a team of people who commit to pray for these two men of God — that He would continue to strengthen them, renew their vision, and continue to protect and bless them.

There are so many great people who come here and events that happen around this place, and it’s our goal to capture some of these special moments and share them with the rest of the “family”. At the end of every year, we have a New Year's Celebration and during the service there's always a slide-show displaying some of the memories of what happened in the last year.

Our aim is to make this church a safe and protected environment where all those who are a part feel comfortable and at home. Every Sunday morning there are a few men whose job it is to make sure that everything runs smoothly and to take care of any problems. These are men who have proved themselves to be faithful and who we know we can trust.

Our sound team is extremely vital to our Sunday mornings! They show up early, make sure that everything is set for the service, and then work throughout the service so that there are no malfunctions with the equipment. We owe a lot of gratitude to these dedicated individuals!

About Visitor's Hospitality

New to this church? First time visitor? Looking for a home church? Just passing through?

It doesn’t matter where you fit, we want to meet you and get to know you. We have a room specifically designated for a time of refreshments and fellowship following the Sunday morning service that you can visit if you fit into the “new” category. There will be various members from this fellowship there who want to get to know you! Check out room 102 after the service!

 

Worship Team

About Worship Team

The book of Psalms is clear about praising God with singing and instruments and we’ve found that this is an amazing way to express to the Lord our hearts of worship, love, thankfulness, and declare who He is and what He’s done.

We have a worship band that prepares and leads us in worship for the first 30 minutes of our weekly Sunday service. Our Worship Team does a great job of leading us in songs which focus our hearts so that our time doesn't turn into a tradition, but continues to be something that leads us into the glory of the Lord.

About Youth

We’re so excited about what God is doing in our youth! We’re learning what it means to be wholly surrendered to him; doing whatever He calls us to do whole-heartedly and above and beyond the bare minimum. Going beyond our comfort zones into the plans He has for us — that’s what we’re after.
